Error Code 0x8004010F in Outlook & it's Solution


MS Outlook OST files are used to work in off-line mode and when it is needed to work in on-line mode OST files have to be synchronized with exchange server but they all are prone to multiple error nudges which can make OST files missing or inaccessible, amongst these errors most common is: Error Code 0x8004010f.
0X8004010f is a general MAPI error code which mostly occurs in MS Outlook 2013 when the user tries to synchronize his files with the exchange, while downloading the OAB files, during the receive and send operation or if the configuration of the file is incorrectly done.
Different Error Messages Are:

1. 0x8004010F: Outlook data file cannot be accessed.

2. 0x8004010F: The operation failed. An object could not be found.

Steps to be followed for the solution of error 0x8004010F:
  1. User should track the location of default Outlook 2013 file

    1. Start—Click Control Panel—Mail.
    2. In Mail Setup—Outlook dialog box click on—Show Profiles.

        
    3. Then he should choose current outlook profile and then click on—Properties

         
    4. In mail setup—Outlook dialog box, click—Data files.

       
    5. Account Settings—Dialog Box—Select Data File Tab, here user can view the name as well as location of default outlook data.

              
6. Click Close.
2. Then user should create a new Outlook Profile
      1. Firstly he should create an POP 3 or IMAP email account—by using an auto account setup.

         
    2.Then he needs to create a POP 3 or IMAP email account manually.

              


    3. In third step he needs to configure the new outlook profile as default profile.

    1. In mail dialog box—select General tabs—select( Always use this file).
    2. Then user needs to click on the drop down menu of Always use this profile,
        Select –new profile.
    3. Click OK to close Mail dialog Box.
